This evening, in Philadelphia, we went to see the Philadelphia Orchestra, with a combination of theater students from University of Michigan and Broadway performers in a mind-boggling version of Fiddler on the Roof.
It was a concert version, with the actors in costumes in front of the Orchestra. The connection with the events now in Ukraine were so deep that many of us in the audience were in tears.
The cruelty and crimes against humanity by the Russians in Ukraine brought deep emotions to me - as I thought of my father (and his relatives) needing to flee Germany in 1938.
The concert was in Kimmel Concert in Philadelphia. Almost 40 percent of the costumes were from Ukraine. And, the sense of NOW was in NOW.
So, our trip across America had a powerful first day. Onward!
