Skills: Flopper, Slinger & Flipper, "Frenchie" Sandwiches, Vertical Capitol, Axe Throwing, Old Area Codes
Skills: Flopper, Slinger & Flipper: Sunday Brunch in Nebraska at Shirley’s Diner had the most specific Skills Wanted Sign:
Yes, we do need to bring specifics and even some humor to talking about the skills and readiness levels of new jobs and careers. I love the idea that they want Chopping Fluency and Frying Artists.
Cheese & Cornflake Encrusted Sandwich - Deep Fried: Not only was their Help Wanted Sign different, take a look at the writeup and picture of their “Frenchie” - that takes Yellow American and Swiss Cheese to new levels:
Yummy - but please do not share the details with any Cardiologist :)
Vertical State Capital in Lincoln, Nebraska: Most State Capitol Buildings have domes. But, the Nebraska State Capitol's 400-foot tower in Omaha can be seen up to twenty miles away. Finding Colleagues When Cell Phone Area Codes Aren’t Current?: Try to make a map of where your colleagues and friends live around the United States. Not Easy!
Area Codes of Mobile Phones May Be Decades Old: Yup, many colleagues have the area code of the region where they went to college. So, they may have studied in Albany, NY (area code 518) - yet, have lived for 10 years in Chicago.
eMail vs. Mailing Address Challenge: My phone directory has the name, organization, phone number and email. I have very few mailing addresses, since my birthday notes are more likely digital.
Movement During Pandemic: Several friends and colleagues did a “soft” relocation during the COVID work from home era. They may be working near or with family in another part of the country - or relocated to a locale that had ocean, skiing or other attractions.

New location, new job and discoverable via this methodA
Random Ax Throwing Opportunities: Traveling around the United States for a month yields some visual clues to trends. Axe Throwing stores or spaces were visible in the last few stops. I did a bit of research on the trend and it has been expanding as a “sport” for folks wanting to do something physical, hopefully safe and with others in a high spirited energy adventure:
